Description

I am a Biologist and Master’s student in Biology at Universidad Industrial de Santander, Bucaramanga, Colombia. I am part of the Laboratory of Metabolism, where I have worked with in vivo Wistar rat models since my undergraduate studies. My research has focused on establishing experimental models of metabolic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and anaemia, followed by nutraceutical-based interventions to evaluate their therapeutic potential. To assess outcomes, I have performed molecular and biochemical analyses, including PCR, blood biochemistry (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL), complete blood counts, and histological studies of different organs. In the near future, during my doctoral training, I aim to expand my expertise to in vitro models, particularly in cell culture systems, to complement and strengthen my translational research in metabolic diseases and nutraceuticals.
