Description
I am a nutritional and medical scientist with a focus on clinical nutrition and metabolic research. From 2018 to 2024, I conducted research in the field of nutritional medicine at University Medicine Greifswald. In November 2024, I was appointed Junior Professor of Nutritional Medicine at FH Münster University of Applied Sciences. My research centers on malnutrition in chronic and malignant diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as the nutritional challenges and risks following bariatric surgery. Additionally, I investigate the preventive and therapeutic potential of nutrition in the general population and in selected patient groups. I am an active member of the German Society for Nutritional Medicine (DGEM) and the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN).
