Rationale: To investigate effect of systematic nutritional support strategy based on goal setting in patients with acute pancreatitis.

Methods: A randomized controlled study was conducted. A total of 120 with acute pancreatitis who were hospitalized in our hospital from March 2024 to August 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the intervention groupn=60) and the control group (n=60). The intervention group adopted the systematic nutritional support strategy based on goal setting, including nutritional risk assessment goal setting, support plan, and monitoring and adjustment; the control group adopted routine nutritional support. The nutritional indicators, inflammatory indicators, incidence of complications, and hospital stay the two groups of patients were compared.

Results: The levels of serum albumin, prealbumin, and hemoglobin in the intervention group were significantly higher than those the control group (P<0.05), and the levels of C-reactive protein and white blood cell count were significantly lower than those in the control groupP<0.05). The incidence of complications in the intervention group (8.3%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (21.%) (P<0.05), and the hospital stay (10.2±2.5 days) was shorter than that in the control group (4.6±3.1 days) (P<0.05).

Conclusion: The systematic nutritional support strategy based on goal setting can effectively improve the nutritional of patients with acute pancreatitis, reduce the inflammatory response, lower the incidence of complications, and shorten the hospital stay.
