Rationale: This observational study aimed to evaluate the nutritional and metabolic trajectory of 11 participants with overweight or obesity enrolled in a group-based intervention led by a registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN).
Methods: The study consisted of a 10-week structured nutritional and lifestyle intervention. Core components included weekly group sessions with the RDN, behavioral change strategies, and daily participant monitoring. The intervention comprised five key elements: dietary recommendations, lifestyle modifications, nutritional supplement guidance, continuous behavioral monitoring and adjustment, and ongoing support. Outcomes were assessed using mean values and comparisons between baseline and post-intervention measurements.
Results: At the end of the 10-week program, significant improvements were observed. Participants achieved a mean weight reduction of 9.7%, a decrease in abdominal circumference of 11.5 cm, and a reduction in body mass index (BMI) of 2.8 kg/m². Biochemical parameters improved, including reductions in LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and the HOMA-IR index. Vitamin D levels increased, likely due to targeted supplementation.
Conclusion: This study demonstrates the clinical progression of 11 patients undergoing overweight and obesity management within a structured, dietitian-led program. Under the supervision of an RDN, participants achieved significant improvements in anthropometric and biochemical markers. The intervention showed promising efficacy, as a 5–10% weight reduction is typically achieved over 6–12 months, whereas comparable results were obtained within 10 weeks.
