Methods: This was descriptive, cross-sectional study . Data were collected via an online survey distributed through Google Docs between October 2024 and March 2025.
Results: A total of 212 anesthesiologists participated, 136 females (mean age;40) and 76 males (mean age:38). The distribution of participants was; 133 residents, 65 specialists, 8 assistant professors, 11 associate professors, 8 professors. Anesthesiologists demonstrated statistically low levels of eating awareness. There is corelation between participants’ BMI and total&subscale scores of mindfull eating. Residents were found to have lower mindful eating score compared to non-resident physicians.
Conclusion: The findings indicate low level of eating awareness among anesthesiologist, with significant correlations to BMI. Anesthesiologists work in shifts, in-call, on-call or regular hours, and also work in the academic field. Considering the fast-paced and academic workload of anesthesiologist, it is need to improve their eating habits and mindfull eating levels.Given their demanding roles, further research and targeted interventions are recommended to improve mindful eating practices within this group.
