Rationale: Quality of life is affected by many factors such as obesity and chronic diseases. Nutritional habits are also an important factor influencing quality of life. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of adults' food consumption habits on their quality of life.

Methods: The study was carried out on 400 adult individuals, including 183 men and 217 women. The nutritional habits of the individuals were determined through a face-to-face questionnaire administered by the researcher. Anthropometric measurements were taken by the researcher. Quality of life was assessed using the SF-36 quality of life scale.

Results: The frequency of regular meal consumption was 45.3% in men and 56.2% in women. While 66.2% of men consumed a snack once a day, this rate was 59.5% in women. There was no significant relationship between individuals’ regular meal consumption and number of snacks with their quality of life (p>0.05). The difference in quality of life by gender was significant, except for emotional role difficulty and general health perception (p<0.05), and the mean scores of all sub-dimensions of the quality of life scale were found to be lower in women than in men.

Conclusion: Improving quality of life and developing strategies to enhance it are among the main goals of countries. In this study, no significant relationship was found between regular meal consumption, number of snacks, and quality of life.
